Skating Etiquitte
1. Skaters must not interrupt coaches while they are teaching, unless necessary.
2. Skaters should be respectful of all coaches.
3. In order to try a test, a skater must be a member in good standing. This means that all ice fees, coaching fees and test fees must be paid in full.
4. Right of way goes 1st to the coaches, 2nd to the skater having a lesson and 3rd to the skater doing their solo.
5. Once music tapes for solos and dance are placed in the line up for playing, the order cannot be adjusted except for lesson requests.
6. Only coaches are allowed to request music.
7. Skaters are expected to be on time and to skate the duration of their session.
8. No: Gum chewing or food eating, Standing at the boards, Sitting on the boards, Sitting in the penalty boxes
9. Parents: Please do not stand at the boards, or interrupt your child’s skating session unless it is necessary.
10. Parents and/or skaters must notify the coach of any lessons to be missed. Coaches have the prerogative to charge for missed lessons not cancelled the day before.
11. For safety, if you must leave a session before its completion, please tell a coach.
12. Bathroom breaks should be taken during floods, or before and after session, unless absolutely necessary. Kleenex, mitts, gloves; water bottles must be brought with you at the beginning of the session.
13. Only water in plastic bottles should be brought to the ice surface.
14. Skaters should be dressed neatly, and in the proper skating attire. Long hair should be tied back and off the face.
15. Skate guards must be worn at all times when off the ice to protect the blades.
